A Teacher's teacher: In addition to his inspiring work as a performer, John enjoys coaching fellow teachers, bringing them ever closer to their own artistic levels of teaching and playing.

          John was awarded Member of the Year in 2009-10 by his local association, Cypress Creek Music Teachers Association.

           Many of his students  are interested in competing in local, regional and national competitions.

          The scope of his tutelage covers beginning to advanced repertoire, with an emphasis on building artistic technique from the beginning.

      Actively involved in creating individual exercises and technical material for all levels to prompt healthy playing habits.

      John's teaching  follows in the tradition of Artur Schnabel, passed on through UCLA Prof. Aube Tzerko,  one of his mentors.
